Fold forming intrigues me to no end.
The idea of taking a flat sheet of metal and winding up
with a 3-dimensional piece of jewelry is amazing.
Some describe it as a combination of origami
and traditional metalworking, where metal is folded,
repeatedly forged, chased, corrugated, crimped
and annealed. When it's finally unfolded we now
have something of beauty.
Cynthia Del Giudice creates these lovely sculptural pieces.
I'm intrigued by all the visual texture.
This artist also creates great looking jewelry
using other materials, such as recycled plastics.
These pieces are made from recycled plastic grocery bags
which she fuses into floral shapes and designs.
I find them irresistible!
Creative, unique and one-of-a-kind, each of
her collections are a treasure trove of beauty.

ReplyDeleteLovely work. I never would have thought that grocery bags could become such lovely jewelry. It makes me wonder what household things I could recycle into artistic work.
