Felt Jewelry by Danielle Gori-Montanelli

Let's consider three definitions of
the word felt:
as a type of cloth formed when wool
fibers are mixed with moisture,
heat and pressure;
as the past tense of the verb 'to feel'
 describing one's emotional reactions;
and as a term to
explain the tactile, physical
sensations of an object.
Few people would
attribute this trio of terminology
to one artist's work, but
all three can be appropriately used
when discovering the jewelry and
accessories created by

She designs with felt cloth making
wonderful pieces of wearable art.
While she doesn't actually make her
own felt cloth, she does sew every
piece of her creations by hand with
 needle and thread.

  Her creative process is improvisational.
Her creations are multi-dimensional.
Vibrant colors and thick structural
elements combine in myriad ways
emerging as lush, dense sculptures.

Colorful is just the beginning.

Highly textured is an understatement.

Whether she uses spectral colors or
monochromatic themes each
piece is a work of art.

This composition is breathtaking.

This artist transforms simple felt cloth
into multi-dimensional, vibrantly-colored
colossal works that inspire and delight.

This large-scale work provides
 large-scale inspiration.

Enjoy!

Gail Crosman Moore Jewelry

Jewelry from Gail Crosman Moore always
delights us. Her handmade jewelry created
from felt and glass beads are often
botanically-inspired
and downright gorgeous.

Combining her handmade glass beads with
painstaking felt and fiber work
result in pieces that are colorful,
texture-filled, and delightful.

Sometimes the glass work takes
center stage while at other times the
fiber work becomes the highlight
of the piece.

Each is more beautiful and
multi-dimensional than the last.

Gail's creative talents
are rich and varied.

We look forward to seeing
more of her inspiring work.

Cara Romano Jewelry

We're always intrigued when
an artist combines metals
with textiles, and we find a great
deal to be intrigued about
whenever we see
the sterling silver and felt jewelry
created by Cara Romano.

We are enamored with the
combination of sterling silver
and brightly-colored, felted wool
-- it clearly exposes the duality
of the softness of the felt
with the rigidity of the metal.

Here is an example of a pendant
from Cara's Felted Silver Collection.

These earrings are from her Stitched Felt Collection.

This pendant is from her Abacus Collection.

Intriguing work using intriguing materials.
Always a winner in our book!

Enjoy!

Kristen Lora Jewelry - Variety in Style and Technique

Variety usually means having an assortment of things. In the case of jewelry created by Kristen Lora, we would have to say that variety means so much more than that; we need to use a word like abundance to describe her broad range of work.

Inspired by bold shapes, color and movement, Kristin designs jewelry that is meant to flatter and entertain. Believe us when we say, Kristin Lora delivers an abundance of entertainment. She has so many collections of jewelry to view; yet in this post, we will admire just a mere handful.

Always appreciating color and natural elements, Kristin focuses on creating beautiful and artful jewelry. Most are made with sterling silver. She creates all her pieces with the utmost in impeccable skill and technique. This intricate brooch is from her Tubular Collection

Her metalsmith skills are impeccable and all her designs are meticulous and sophisticated. These earrings are from her Felt Collection

This jewelry is both unique in its composition and cherished for its value. Often the artist adds a touch of whimsy. Here is another delightful piece from her Felt Collection

From the Circle Cluster Collection

Here is another example from the Circle Cluster Collection

And we haven't even touched on half of her collections. Yes, there is so much, much more. It's a mind-boggling abundance of jewelry all offered by the same artist.
